SMS Gateway Overview

Adding SMS messaging to your application is easy with CellTrust 2-Way SMS Gateway. You can simply send and receive SMS messages using our HTTP, Java, .NET, Web Services, SMTP and PHP application programming interface (API) or by using our powerful web tools and plug and play scripts without the need for developing any code.

You can also trigger an event in your application based on an incoming mobile message and execute a series of actions. An HTTPS protocol makes communication with our gateway even more secure. How does it work?

Sending a message to mobile users:

  • Choose one of several methods available to integrate your application (or website) to the CellTrust API, or use CellTrust's powerful web tools to compose and send messages.
  • Send a request to our SMS gateway with the phone number and message/data.
  • CellTrust SMS Gateway detects the country and carrier and delivers the message to the appropriate carrier based on the phone number.
    A report of messages sent with delivery status is available online and is traceable via the API.

Receiving a message from mobile users:

  • A mobile originated (MO) message is sent to a short code assigned to you.
  • Based on the short code carriers detect CellTrust as the aggregator responsible for the message. Carriers transmit the message to the CellTrust SMS Gateway.
  • CellTrust SMS Gateway pushes the message content and headers to your application (for example, using the 'post' method) or, if your are using our web tools, the message content is documented in your account and you can login to see a report of messages at any time.
  • You also have the option to set a series of actions once a message has arrived: send a response back to the user, automatically group users into lists, or forward a copy of the incoming messsage to another SMS or email, etc.
